The five courses comprising the master teacher leadership development program lead to a graduate certificate in learning and leadership in health professions education. The master teacher leadership development program has been the core of the School of Medicine and Health Science’s faculty development programming since 2002. The program is designed to enhance faculty teaching skills, foster scholarship in education, and develop education leadership potential. The curriculum focuses on effective adult learning and instructional design; the process of curriculum development; methods of learner assessment; and practices related to successful teamwork and leadership in organizations. The in-person, cohort format also provides opportunity for building relationships across the many disciplines involved in today’s complex healthcare education and care delivery environments.
The following requirements must be fulfilled: 15 credits in required courses.
